- Our family (Lorraine and Geoff and children Dax, Jason and Tanya) has lived in Gympie since 1982
- Our 3 children, although not born in Gympie, grew up in the community and have since moved to various parts of Australia.
- Lorraine and I live in the community of Jones Hill, about 5Ks from the centre of Gympie.
- I have been a teacher since 1966 and a music teacher since 1969.
- I proposed and started the Country Music School of Excellence at Gympie State High School
- I proposed and initiated the Australian Institute of Country Music as a community organisation to oversee the development of country music education and industry in Gympie.
- My vision for Gympie is for it to become a centre for the creative industries with a focus on country music. A creative alternative to Tamworth will be to the benefit of Australian country music in general.
