How to start

In order to get started using CMwiki, you either need to start a new page for a new topic or edit (add information to) a page or topic already started by someone else.

Edit a page

To edit a page or topic, you have to first find the page or topic within CMwiki.

The easiest way to see if someone else has written about a topic of interest to you is to use the search facilities found either in the menu to the left or at the top right of the screen. If you feel that you can add something to what has already been written on that page, select "edit" from the menu at the top right had corner of the page and start typing. Don't forget to save the document when you are finished editing.

A new topic

If you wish to write about a new topic, a simple way of starting is to add its title to this page by editing the page, typing the topic title somewhere on the page and surrounding the title in "double square brackets". When you save the page, your topic title will show as a link. Simply click on the new link and type away. Don't forget to save the page when you are finished.

For example, a link to a new topic or page that you might want to write on Tom Jones will look like this [[Tom Jones]].

I have added some "starter topics" in the tables headed in the main menu as "CMwiki starters" to the left. If you would like to write about a topic listed there, click on the topic and edit the page. A "question mark" after a link indicates that there is nothing written about that topic in CMwiki. These topics have been added only to help get the whole CMwiki started.

Below is some space for you to type a new topic title. I have even included the "double square brackets". But you can't see them until you click edit and start typing.
