Back to BellbirdOn Saturday, 19th of March 1974, the Webb Brothers invited their fans and others interested in their lifestyle to visit Thornside to be part of the Back to Bellbird celebrations. About 2500 people attended and gate takings were $1 300. The program included a motor bike gymkhana and a concert. The gymkhana events were held in the daylight hours and included hill climb, slalom as well as egg and spoon races. The concert was held at night which required the use of large generators to supply the power for the lights and the amplification. Once again, the event was organised by the Gympie Rotary Club and the charities of Gympie benefited handsomely. |
